There was a time many of us can remember, back in the mid to early 2000s, an era made up of some of the best emo music that ever was, your Jimmy Eat Worlds, your Taking Back Sundays, even Blink 182 dipped their toes into that well for a hot second, introducing Rosegold, a band that could very well be plucked directly out of that era for us not-quite-elder millennials. Combining that nostalgic sound with more contemporary shoe gaze and post rock and even a little bit of punk sensibilities. It’s a really endearing album from an unreasonably talented fella out of North Carolina and you’re going to love it. Or else. Another unique one for those who have come to expect heavier music from the big sticky moose, but here’s hoping you’ll come in with an open heart and mind.
